I missed last week’s check-in, which serves as a reminder that systems aren’t about perfection; they’re about rhythm. And sometimes the rhythm includes rest.
This Sunday, I’m choosing a gentle reset. Not a sprint to catch up. Not another list that makes me feel behind. Just a moment to let go, reframe, and realign.
🌿 What I’m Releasing
This week, I’m releasing the guilt of falling behind. The way my brain wants to convince me that missing a week means I’ve lost momentum.
I’m releasing the weight of carrying everyone else’s consequences. Because when I rescue people from their lessons, I rob them of their growth.
And most of all, I’m releasing the grip of control; the survival-mode instinct to plan, fix, and hold it all together. Instead, I’m whispering to myself: let go and let God. Because the truth is, I’m not built to carry everything. And I don’t have to.
☀️ What I’m Honoring
I’m also pausing to honor the wins I might otherwise speed past:
✨ Cutting back on processed foods for the past 4 weeks, choosing whole foods to fuel my body.
✨ Securing a new client this week, a proud reminder that my gifts are making room for me.
✨ Resuming my 5 am workouts with a new coach, remembering how strong and clear I feel when I start the day by loving on myself.
✨ Connecting with four new people, expanding my network and deepening relationships.
✨ Approaching the final week of my grad school class with only 3 classes left to go and still holding an A average.
✨ Posting weekly on Substack for 11 weeks straight, staying consistent with my voice, even when life pressed heavily.
Honoring these wins matters. Because the same energy I use to critique myself can also be used to celebrate myself.
🪞 What I’m Reframing
Burnout is not resilience. Busyness is not belonging. Saying no is not rejection.
This week, I’m reframing presence as prevention, for myself and for those I love. Because when I show up softly and intentionally, I don’t need to over-function to prove I care.
✨ This Week’s Anchor
The 3-Decision Rule. Only three major decisions a day; everything else gets automated, delegated, or delayed.
This isn’t laziness. It’s a strategy. It’s how I protect my brain from decision paralysis and keep enough bandwidth for what matters.
🎶 Feel-Good Music Vibe
This week’s vibe: “Let Go” by Dwayne Woods.
Sometimes, the reset isn’t about doing more; it’s about letting go. About remembering that peace is found when we stop wrestling with control and allow God to carry what we can’t.
Play it while you journal. Play it on your walk. Play it when you need to remind yourself that letting go isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom.
😂 Because let’s be real, some Sundays, the “reset” looks a lot more like this:
Closing
If you’ve been running on empty, I hope this week’s reset reminds you: systems don’t require perfection. They require rhythm.
Release what’s heavy. Honor what you’ve already accomplished. Reframe what matters. Realign with what you actually have capacity for.
And above all, let go and let God.
Here’s to soft systems that carry us into the week ahead. 🌿
P.S. The other day, I had to remind my youngest about the spirit of gratitude when she was laser-focused on complaining about her bad day at school. And it hit me; the same reminder applies to me. Gratitude softens even the heaviest days.
